Each podcast channel contains individual episodes which can either be downloaded or viewed online using one of the options below. All the podcasts on this site are provided free of charge and are copyright of 55degrees and their partners.

For more information on how to get a podcast, please see the BBC Getting a Podcast guide and the Vodstock How to View a Video Podcast guide.

Subscribe using iTunes

Subscribe using iTunes

This option allows you to subscribe to the podcast channel using iTunes, which can be downloaded for free from the Apple website.

When you click on this option iTunes will automatically download the latest episode from the podcast channel and will give you the option to download previous episodes. After being downloaded the episodes will appear in your iTunes library where you are free to view them at any time.

After you have subscribed, iTunes will automatically check for new episodes and download them every time you are online and have iTunes open.

Subscribe using RSS

Subscribe using an RSS feed

This option allows you to either subscribe to the podcast channel (using a programme other than iTunes) or to download the individual episodes.

When you click on this option a new browser window will open with a page displaying the RSS feed. You have two options:

  1. You can subscribe to the podcast channel using your podcast software. To do this, copy the URL (the address in the address bar) of the page and paste it into your podcast software. Depending on the software, this will either alert you when a new episode becomes available or will automatically download it for you. A list of free podcast software can be found on the Podcasting News website.
  2. You can download individual episodes as M4V files. To do this, right / ctrl click the episode title and select "Save Target As" or "Save Link As". Safari users may have to rename the file without the ".txt" ending after it has downloaded.

Both options require you to have software which can play M4V (MPEG-4 video) files. This includes programs which are free to download such as Quicktime, VLC Media Player and iTunes.
