Creative Scotland Awards
The Scottish Arts Council Creative Scotland Awards are amongst the richest arts awards in Europe. They reward, honour and celebrate established and leading artists in Scotland and raise the profile of the arts and their contribution to Scotland.
Each year, up to ten established artists with a record of major achievement in their field are awarded £30,000 to provide them with a unique opportunity to realise their imaginative ideas in a major project.
In 2007 SAC commissioned 55degrees to produce the 10 'portrait' films, screened at the awards ceremony.
We used our innovative Voxpod system which alowed each of the artists to build a video diary about themselves, their work and how they thought the award would impact on their work. The result were character driven short studies on each of the 10 recipients.
