55degrees’ interactive department has developed the Threshold software. This software enables video artists and producers to quickly produce complex multiscreen interactive video installations. Threshold software is installed into Perth’s Horsecross Concerthall where it runs a permanent 22-screen installation called the Threshold Artspace.
This short film examines the relationship between art and technology, following one artist who has chosen to use this innovative form through which to display new media art content, and the developers and technology behind the software.
Artist Catherine-Anne Lee’s work highlights our relationship with the environment. 'I feel that the nature of our society detaches us from the physical environment; our relationship to the physical earth is becoming less obvious.' In her work she uses natural patterns and formations and a highly technical new media platform to explore these ideas.
